Ear Infections
Ear infections occur when bacteria, viruses, or fungi enter the ear canal, causing inflammation and build-up of fluid. These infections can be uncomfortable and painful and can affect both children and adults. Common symptoms include earache, fever, headache, and temporary hearing loss. Treatment options depend on the severity of the infection and can include antibiotic or antifungal medications, ear drops, and surgery. In order to prevent ear infections, doctors advise maintaining good hygiene practices, such as regular handwashing, and avoiding touching the ears.
