Air and Water Pollution
Air and water pollution are human-created forms of environmental degradation that have a negative impact on the health of individuals and ecosystems. Air pollution is caused by the release of chemicals, particulates and biological materials into the air, while water pollution is caused by the discharge of pollutants, such as agricultural runoff and chemicals, into water bodies. The effects of pollution on human health include respiratory illnesses, heart disease, cancer, and more. The effects on the environment include degraded ecosystems, loss of biodiversity, and reduced access to clean air and water. Prevention, mitigation, and clean-up strategies are necessary to reduce the negative impacts of air and water pollution on the environment and human health.
