Plant Biology Agricultural Biotechnology
Plant biology is the study of plants with the use of biotechnology. Agricultural biotechnology is the application of modern biotechnological techniques, such as genetic engineering, to enhance crop production and pest and disease control. This technology is used to improve the quality and quantity of food, as well as to increase the sustainability and resilience of agricultural production systems. The use of biotechnology helps to reduce the environmental impact of agriculture and provides benefits for soil and water conservation, nutrient recycling, and decreased use of synthetic and toxic chemicals. Plant biology and agricultural biotechnology can also be used to develop new plant varieties that are resistant to disease, heat, water, and other environmental stresses, improving both crop productivity and food security.
