Biography:
• Mohamed Magdy Mansour is a professor at Fac. of Science, Ain Shams Univ., Egypt, where he teaches plant physiology courses for undergraduates and graduates, and supervises M.S. and Ph.D. theses.
• He received B.S. (botany), M.S. (plant physiology) from Ain Shams Univ., and Ph.D. (plant physiology) from Univ. of Minnesota, USA.
• His research area of interest is salt stress at molecular, cellular and whole plant level.
• His research focuses on plasma membrane permeability, plasma membrane lipids and proteins, plasma membrane proton pump, water and mineral relations, compatible solutes, and antioxidant systems in salt sensitive and tolerant cultivars/species under saline and nonsaline conditions.
• He carried out postdoctoral research at Univ. of Groningen, Holland. He is the author of fifty scientific publications in international journals.
• He is an editorial board member of International Journal of Agriculture and Biology, International Journal of Plant Biotechnology and Asian Journal of Plant Science.
• He serves as a referee for e.g. Plant Physiol. Biochem., American J. Bot., Environ. Exp. Bot., Turkish J. Bot., Aust. J. Exp. Agri., J. Agron. Crop Sci., Sci. Hort., Acta Physiol. Plant., Aust. J. Crop Sci., Biol. Plant., Annals Appl. Biol., and Crop Sci. Holder of several competitive research projects.
