Leaves

Leaves are the main photosynthetic organ of plants, used to capture sunlight and carbon dioxide to produce the food and oxygen needed to sustain life on Earth. Leaves have a wide range of uses, from providing food, shelter, and shade to many organisms, to helping to regulate the climate by absorbing and releasing water vapor. Leaves are also essential for the production of many medicines, fibers, and cosmetic products. The structure, shape, and size of leaves vary greatly between species, making them invaluable for ecological research and species identification.
