Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia
Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) is a type of cancer of the blood and bone marrow that is characterized by the rapid production of abnormal lymphocytes, a type of white blood cell. ALL is the most common form of leukemia in children, but it can also occur in adults. If left untreated, it can be life-threatening as it can prevent the body from producing enough healthy red blood cells and platelets. Treatment for ALL typically includes chemotherapy, radiation therapy, and stem cell transplantation that can improve the chances of survival and a return to normal life.
