Pharmacology

Pharmacology is the branch of science which deals with the study of drugs and their interactions with living organisms. It is important in health care as it provides knowledge on the actions, uses, dosages and side effects of drugs. The knowledge of pharmacology is used to create new medicines and to improve existing ones. It may also be used to develop methods for preventing, diagnosing and treating diseases. Pharmacology is a rapidly-developing area of science, creating improved treatments for a range of conditions and providing essential knowledge for health care professionals.
