Overview

Drug development is the process by which new medications are researched, tested, and produced for the purpose of treating various medical conditions. It involves various stages such as identifying a potential drug, researching its effects, testing the drug in laboratory and animal studies, and obtaining regulatory approval from the FDA. The process is both expensive and time consuming, but it leads to advances in healthcare that can potentially save lives, improve quality of life, and reduce healthcare costs. In addition, drug development allows scientists to gain a better understanding of how disease works, and to develop more efficient treatments.
