Fungi

Fungi are a large and diverse group of organisms that include mushrooms, molds, and yeasts which can be found in nearly every environment on Earth. Fungi play an important role in many different ecosystems by breaking down organic matter and returning essential nutrients to the soil. They are also important for decomposition, providing food for animals, and making food for humans, such as bread and cheese. In addition, many fungi have medicinal value, and some are used to produce antibiotics. Fungi can also be used to produce food and beverages, and to process industrial products.
