Substance Abuse

Substance abuse, also known as drug abuse, is the habitual use of drugs or alcohol in a manner that deviates from social norms or acceptable usage. This can cause physical, social, and psychological damage to both the user and those around them. Substance abuse is prevalent in many societies and is a major public health problem. Advanced pharmaceutical research and technology are continually improving the methods of managing substance abuse disorders.
