Intracellular Receptors
Intracellular receptors are proteins that are found inside cells and bind to signal molecules outside the cell, such as hormones and neurotransmitters. They play an important role in regulating a wide range of cellular processes including metabolism, growth, differentiation and gene expression. Intracellular receptors have vast potential applications in medicine and biotechnology, such as the development of drugs that interact with intracellular receptors to treat a variety of diseases. They are also increasingly being used in drug screenings and toxicological studies, as well as in the study of cell signaling pathways.
