Addiction

Addiction is a chronic disorder characterized by compulsive behaviour and difficulty in controlling impulses, resulting in harmful consequences. This compulsion can take the form of substance abuse (such as drugs and alcohol), gambling, shopping, or even video gaming. Addiction has far-reaching effects on an individual's mental and physical health, as well as on their social and economic functioning. The most effective way to treat addiction is through a combination of psychotherapy, medication, and lifestyle changes. This combination of treatments aims to address the underlying causes of addiction and help the individual to develop coping mechanisms and healthier habits in order to achieve long-term recovery.
