Overview

Sexual behavior (or human sexual behavior) is the behavior of humans in relation to their sexuality. This encompasses a broad range of activities, from romantic relationships and sexual intercourse, to solitary masturbation and reproductive behavior. It is also central to human identity, morality, and socialization. Sexual behavior is an important indicator of overall health and wellbeing, and advances in sexual behavior research over the past decades have informed public health policies and practices in numerous ways. Understanding sexual behavior can help us better protect and promote sexual health, prevent risky behavior, and reduce transmission of sexually transmitted infections.
