It is used to measure the features such as size, shape, and orientation of an object, as well as the amount of light reflecting from it. The analysis of texture can be used in a variety of applications such as biomedical imaging, facial recognition, remote sensing, and image manipulation. It can also be used to identify materials and identify abnormality in medical scans. Texture analysis is useful for recognizing objects in images, making decisions on image processing, and computer vision.
