Wilderness

Wilderness refers to areas of land that are largely untouched by humans, and which remain in a natural state. It is an important part of the environment, providing habitats for wildlife, resources for wilderness recreation, and spiritual and aesthetic value for many people. Wilderness areas are important in helping to preserve biodiversity and providing refuges of undisturbed nature in an increasingly industrialized world. Wilderness also plays an important role in managing land to reduce risk of natural disasters, such as floods and wildfires. Additionally, wilderness serves as a valuable source of research and experimentation, allowing scientists to study natural ecological processes without human interference.
