Wildebeest

Wildebeest (Connochaetes taurinus) are antelopes of the family Bovidae that inhabit the grasslands, savannas, and open woodlands of East and Southern Africa. Their horns, which are curved and lyre-shaped, are longer in males. They forage for vegetation, such as grass, and are known for their cooperative behaviour. Wildebeest play an important role in the African ecosystem by serving as important prey for large predators like lions, hyenas and cheetahs, and also by helping to maintain healthy grasslands through their grazing habits. Furthermore, they are a popular tourist attraction in national parks and reserves around Africa.
