Venomous Snakes
Venomous snakes are a type of reptile which possess venom glands and fangs. They are able to inject a toxin into prey, or in some cases, humans, and cause a variety of symptoms ranging from localized inflammation to severe, possibly life-threatening, damage. Venomous snakes can be found on every continent except Antarctica and are often used to study venom and its effects. Their venom can also be used to develop antivenom, which is used to treat people who have been bitten by a venomous snake. Therefore, venomous snakes play a crucial role in medical research and the treatment of snakebites.
