Testudines
Testudines, commonly known as turtles, tortoises, and terrapins, are a group of reptiles that inhabit land, fresh and saltwater environments across the world. They are known for their distinctive shells, which provide protection and a unique form of locomotion. Testudines are important to the ecosystem and play a vital role in seed dispersal and nutrient cycling. They are also kept in captivity and kept as pets, providing educational and recreational purposes.
