Rhesus Monkeys

Rhesus monkeys are Old World primates, and are known as one of the most widespread and adaptable species of primates in the world. They have been used in biomedical research and drug testing since the 1930s and are important for understanding human biology, health, and disease. Rhesus monkeys are also important for understanding the behavior and social dynamics of primates, as well as in conservation efforts. They have special significance in Hindu culture and iconography, and are the most common species of monkey used in laboratories around the world.
