Reptile Biology
Reptile biology is the study of the anatomy, physiology, behavior, ecology, and evolutionary history of reptiles. Reptiles are an ancient and diverse group of animals, comprising nearly 10,000 species, including lizards, snakes, turtles, tortoises, and crocodilians. They are an important part of global ecosystems, playing a variety of roles such as keystone species, prey, and predators. In addition, they have long been valued for their cultural, religious, and economic importance. A better understanding of reptile biology can help to inform conservation efforts, improve disease management, and develop new medical treatments.
