Rainforests

Rainforests are vital ecosystems that cover over 6% of the Earth’s surface and are home to a staggering variety of plants and animals. They are key to maintaining the balance of the global environment, as they regulate climate and air quality, store carbon dioxide, and provide a range of resources and natural services to people around the world. Rainforests also play an important role in the global economy, providing food, medicines, wood, and other goods and services. Conservation of these precious ecosystems is essential for the continued health of our planet.
