Perissodactyla

Perissodactyla is an order of hoofed mammals characterized by an odd number of toes on each foot. This makes them distinct from the even-toed ungulates, which have an even number of toes. The Perissodactyla order includes rhinoceroses and tapirs. They possess several characteristics that help them survive in different environments, such as long, strong limbs, large hooves and short, tight coats. Perissodactyla are important in scientific studies as they provide insight into the evolution of mammals over time, as well as the structure and function of certain body parts. They are also valuable in conservation efforts, providing a safe haven for species under threat.
