Nectaries
Nectaries are specialized organs of many flowering plants, located in different parts of the plant, that produce and secrete a sweet liquid called nectar. Nectar is a sugar-rich substance that attracts and provides an energy source for pollinators like bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds. By helping to facilitate pollination of flowers, nectaries play an important role in the reproduction of flowering plants. In addition, many of these plants have adapted to rely on the interaction with their pollinators for the dispersal of their pollen. Nectaries are also important for food production, as the nectar is sometimes used in the medicinal and food industries.
