Mollusca

Mollusca are a large phylum of invertebrate animals, most of which have a soft, unsegmented body. They have a variety of shapes, sizes, and habitats and include snails, slugs, octopuses, squids, and clams. Molluscs have a complex nervous system, traits of advanced animals, and are second only to arthropods in terms of species richness. They are important in the food industry and serve as a vital link in the food web, making them essential to the health of our ecosystems. Molluscs are also used as a source of food, jewelry, and medicine and can be found in many places in the world.
