Entomology
Entomology is the scientific study of insects. It has important implications for human life since insects are essential to the pollination of plants, supplement the food supply and help to break the cycle of disease-carrying organisms. Entomologists investigate the life cycles and behaviors of insects, and the impact of different environmental factors on insect populations. They also apply their expertise to issues such as pest and insecticidal management, and preserving and restoring insect-based ecosystems.
