Comparative Physiology
Comparative physiology is the study of the physical and physiological functions of organisms, with a focus on the ways in which their functions differ and vary across different species. It studies how different organisms have adapted over time to exploit their environments and how their physiology contributes to the overall diversity of life. Comparative physiology is used to gain insight into how living organisms are adapted to their environments, as well as how physiological systems within organisms interact with each other. This knowledge can be applied in conservation, biomedical research, and other areas. Comparative physiology has provided many advances in medicine, ranging from new treatments to diagnostic tools. Furthermore, the study of comparative physiology can lead to the development of new drugs, surgical procedures, or technologies.
