Carnivora
Carnivora is a taxonomic order of mammals that are specialized in consuming primarily meat or other animal tissue. This order includes several of the most familiar species, including cats, dogs, bears, foxes, and others. Carnivores are important predators in many ecosystems and have great economic and cultural significance, both directly, as sources of food, and indirectly, as symbols of strength and power. Many carnivores are also tracked for conservation and management purposes, as they are essential to maintain healthy populations of prey species.
