Bison

Bison are a species of mammals found in North America. They are the largest land animals in North America and the largest extant members of the subfamily Bovinae. Bison play a significant role in the North American ecosystem, with their grazing activities helping to maintain native grasslands, and their large populations influencing the environment in which they live. Bison have been farmed for centuries for their highly nutritious and flavorful meat, as well as for their hides, which have been used for leather goods. In addition, bison are a cultural symbol for many North American nations, and have had considerable spiritual, social, and economic importance for North American Indigenous peoples.
