Beavers
Beavers are aquatic mammals known for their large flat tails and their ability to build dams. Beavers are a keystone species, meaning they are essential to their ecosystems as they create and maintain wetlands that provide a habitat for a variety of plants and animals. The dams built by beavers helps slow down water flow, prevent soil erosion and flooding, and filter pollutants from water sources. Beavers are not only important to the environment, but their fur has also been used historically for clothing and blankets.
