Anthrozoology

Anthrozoology is the scientific study of the interactions between humans and animals, including the benefits and impacts on both. It encompasses a broad range of topics, from animal welfare, to human-animal relationships, and animal-assisted interventions in health, education and other areas. The research focuses on the physiology, psychology and sociology of human-animal interactions, and its main aim is to benefit both humans and animals. This field of study has many potential applications, such as improving animal welfare, aiding in animal-assisted therapy, supporting conservation initiatives and human wellbeing. It can also provide insight into human behavior and the effects of different social contexts on human-animal relationships.
