Animals, Suckling
Suckling is the process by which a young animal obtains its early food source, mainly mother’s milk, through suckling. It is a vital process for the survival and well-being of the young animal, providing essential nutrients and immunoglobulins needed for their growth and development. The suckling process also helps to reinforce the maternal bond between the mother and their young. This strengthens their social interaction, attachment and communication. Suckling is a uniquely mammalian form of feeding and its importance has been long recognized in animal husbandry, research, and conservation.
