Animal Parasitology

Animal parasitology is the study of parasites that live on or inside animals. It is an important field of research, as these parasites can cause serious health problems, including diseases and illnesses, in humans and domestic animals. Parasites can also damage the environment, as some can spread rapidly and reduce biodiversity. Animal parasitologists strive to identify and control the spread of parasites and the effects they have on animals and the environment. They develop and use a range of scientific methods and techniques to study, understand, identify and control parasite populations in wild and domestic animals. Animal parasitology is used to improve animal health, welfare, and production, and to help protect humans from zoonoses, diseases that can be transmitted from animals to humans.
