Breast Tissue Biopsy
A breast tissue biopsy is a medical procedure in which a small sample of suspicious breast tissue is removed and examined by a pathologist to assess whether it is cancerous or benign. If the biopsy detects any cancerous cells, additional treatment can then be recommended. Breast tissue biopsies are an important tool used to diagnose and help prevent the spread of breast cancer. The procedure is relatively quick and is often performed in the doctor's office. It is critical for women to receive regular screenings and biopsies to detect the presence of breast cancer in its early stages, when treatment is more successful and has fewer complications.
