Workaholism
Workaholism is a psychological condition characterized by an unhealthy obsession with work, leading to excessive work hours and an inability to switch off and relax. It is a significant mental health issue, affecting an individual’s physical and psychological wellbeing, relationships, and work-life balance. Usual interventions for workaholism include cognitive behavioral therapy, psychotherapy, mindfulness training, stress management, and lifestyle modifications. It is important to recognize the signs of workaholism in order to take preventive measures and ensure long-term physical and psychological health.
