Violence Against Women
Violence against women is a significant problem in society today, with one in three women experiencing physical or sexual abuse during their lifetime. It is an issue that affects women of all ages and backgrounds and can have long-lasting physical, psychological and social impacts. Violence against women is an issue of human rights, public health, and public safety and requires a comprehensive, multi-sectoral approach to address. This includes legal reforms, increased access to health services, public awareness campaigns, and coordination among government, non-governmental organizations and other players. A comprehensive response to this issue is essential to protect the health, safety and well-being of women and girls and to promote gender equality.
