Psychology of Parkinson?s Disease
Psychology of Parkinson’s disease is a branch of psychology dedicated to understanding the behavioural and cognitive effects of Parkinson’s disease. It is an important area of research to understand the psychological changes patients with Parkinson’s experience, how they cope with the diagnosis, and how they can be supported in maintaining a high quality of life. Interventions such as cognitive-behavioural therapy have been developed as a result of research and can play an important role in helping patients manage their symptoms and adapt to the changed lifestyle that Parkinson’s presents.
