Postpartum Depression and Anxiety
Postpartum depression (PPD) and anxiety are common mental health conditions experienced by women after giving birth. PPD and anxiety can involve intense feelings of sadness, fear, or dread, difficulty sleeping, and difficulty bonding with the baby. Symptoms can range from mild to severe and typically develop within the first few weeks or months after childbirth. It is important to seek medical treatment as soon as possible, as PPD and anxiety can have long-lasting effects. Treatment options vary, but typically involve a combination of psychotherapy, counseling, lifestyle modification, and in some cases, medication. PPD and anxiety are common and can be successfully treated when caught early.
