Mood Disorders
Mood disorders are a group of mental disorders that involve a range of symptoms that alter a person's mood, to a point where it interferes with daily life. They encompass major depressive disorder, bipolar disorder and dysthymic disorder. Mood disorders are highly treatable, with a range of treatments from therapy and medication to lifestyle changes. Effects of these disorders can range from disruptions in daily life, to physical problems, and difficulty maintaining relationships with family and friends. With proper treatment and support, symptoms can improve and individuals can lead healthy and productive lives.
