Mental Health Rehabilitation
Mental health rehabilitation is the process of learning, relearning, and enhancing psychological skills so that an individual with a mental health issue can gain greater psychological well-being and daily functioning. Mental health rehabilitation has many benefits, including improved quality of life, increased self-esteem, reduced anxiety and depressive symptoms, better relationships, independence and employability, and individual growth. In addition to providing an opportunity for recovery, mental health rehabilitation also assists with recovery planning, relapse prevention, and integration of mental health services in the community, with the ultimate goal of helping individuals with mental health challenges to achieve their optimal level of functioning and quality of life.
