Mental Health Personality Disorders
Personality disorders are a group of psychological conditions characterized by long-standing, rigid patterns of behavior and thoughts that negatively affect an individual’s ability to adapt and interact with others. These patterns of behavior and thinking tend to lead to distress, disrupting an individual's ability to function well in their job, relationships, and other life areas. Common personality disorders include borderline personality disorder, paranoid personality disorder, narcissistic personality disorder, schizoid personality disorder, and antisocial personality disorder. Treatments for personality disorders often include psychotherapy and/or medications. With appropriate and timely treatment, many individuals can improve their functioning and live more fulfilling lives.
