Mental Health Alzheimer Disease
Alzheimer's Disease (AD) is a progressive and irreversible neurological disorder that affects memory and cognitive functions, with the most common symptom being progressive memory loss. AD affects millions of people around the world, robbing them of their ability to carry out everyday activities and leading to an overall decrease in quality of life. While there is currently no cure for the disease, advances in the understanding of the condition and its risk factors have led to earlier diagnosis, improved treatments, and greater support for those affected. Mental health professionals are often involved in helping people living with AD and their families deal with the emotional, physical, social, and financial implications of the condition.
