Developmental Disorders
Developmental disorders are a group of mental health issues that are present in infancy or early childhood and usually last throughout a person’s life. Examples of these disorders include autism, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), intellectual disability, and language disorders. These disorders can have a wide range of symptoms, which can affect an individual’s social and academic functioning. Early detection and treatment are essential to helping people with developmental disorders reach their full potential. Specialized interventions that are tailored to meet a person’s particular needs can help improve the quality of life of those who have developmental disorders.
