Cognitivism

Cognitivism is a psychological theory that focuses on how people process information and how they use their mental abilities to think, learn, and understand. It is based on the idea that the mind is an active processor of information and that conscious thought can shape understanding and behaviour. It focuses on the internal mental processes to explain behaviour and contrasts with behaviourism, which emphasizes external environmental causes for behaviour. This approach has been used to study a wide range of topics, such as language acquisition, problem solving, and complex decision-making. Cognitivism is a valuable research tool for psychologists, educationalists, and those interested in human cognition and has a wide range of practical applications.
