Cesarean Sections
A cesarean section, also known as c-section, is a major surgery performed to deliver a baby through an incision made in the mother’s abdomen and uterus. This surgical procedure is usually used when a vaginal delivery is not possible due to medical reasons such as an abnormal fetal presentation or if the mother has a medical condition that makes a vaginal delivery risky. Cesarean sections have saved many lives and improved the health of both mothers and babies. They are also used to reduce birth defects and prevent possible risks to the mother or baby during labor. In cases where the mother is carrying multiples or if the baby is in distress, cesarean section often provide the safest option. Although cesarean sections involve surgical risks, they are generally considered safe and have high success rates.
