Wolves

Wolves are a species of wild canine found throughout North America, Europe, Asia and North Africa. Although they are apex predators that can have a major impact on the ecological balance of the regions they inhabit, they are also important to maintain healthy ecosystems. Wolves help to keep their prey populations in check, contributing to the biodiversity of an area. People use wolf populations for their own benefit, as well, such as for hunting and keeping livestock safe. While wolves can be destructive if their numbers get too high, their presence can help create a healthy balance of natural resources and has a positive effect on the environment.
