Vertebrata

Vertebrata are a subphylum of animals that contain a backbone and a central nervous system. They include most of the animals that people are familiar with, such as birds, fish, mammals, and reptiles. Vertebrates are characterized by having a three-part skeleton composed of the cranium, vertebral column, and ribs. They also have a variety of organs, such as a brain, heart, lungs, or gills. They have adapted to a wide range of habitats, including land, water, and air. The vertebrae are essential in providing stability, support, and protection to the delicate organs of these animals. Vertebrates play a key role in many ecosystems, since they serve as both predators and prey, as well as provide food for many other animals. As a result, they support the larger balance of the environment.
