Types of Birds
Birds are a diverse group of animals, with over 10,000 species found across the world. They come in a broad range of sizes, colors, shapes, and behaviors. The most common types of birds are songbirds, waterfowl, game birds, and raptors. Songbirds, such as robins and thrushes, are typically found in forests and wetlands and feed on seeds, insects, and fruit. Waterfowl, like ducks and geese, feed on aquatic vegetation and small animals, and inhabit wetlands and marshes. Game birds, like quail and grouse, live in open fields and feed on seeds and insects. Raptors, such as hawks and eagles, are carnivorous birds that feed on small mammals, reptiles, and other birds. Birds play an important role in the environment by controlling pests, dispersing seeds, and maintaining healthy ecosystems.
