Tropical Forests

Tropical forests are forests located in tropical regions, typically near the equator. These forests are ecologically significant, as they are home to a large variety of plant and animal species, many of which are endemic. Tropical forests serve many important functions, such as providing habitats for biodiversity, regulating climate, and aiding in sequestering carbon. They are also an important source of wood and medicinal plants, which are used by people around the world. Tropical forests are under threat from deforestation and urbanization, meaning it is important to prioritize their conservation and protection.
