Predator-Prey Dynamics

Predator-prey dynamics is a type of interaction between two populations that are connected by the feeding relationships between them. The population of prey is consumed by the predator population, while the predator population relies on the prey as a food source. This type of interaction is fundamental to the stability of ecosystems and is essential to understanding the cycles of abundance in both predator and prey populations. Predator-prey dynamics has been studied extensively, with scientists uncovering the key drivers of this type of interaction, including the impact of environmental conditions, the role of competition and predation, and the importance of individual behaviours. The insight gained from this research has been used to develop strategies for managing populations, such as the implementation of hunting regulations, the use of habitat management, and the introduction of biological control of prey.
