Lions

Lions are large, powerful cats native to Africa, Asia, and Southern Europe. They are apex predators in their ecosystems and are an indicator species of the health of the environment. Lions play an important role in controlling prey populations and the overall balance of the natural environment. They have an important cultural and symbolic value, being the national animal of many countries and a popular symbol of strength and courage. Lions are now at risk of extinction due to habitat loss and other human-related activities. Conservation efforts of the species are essential to maintain their populations in the wild.
